How Strands hints and spangrams work
Strands is a themed word search played on a six-by-eight letter grid. Connect letters horizontally, vertically, or diagonally to form words. Theme words turn blue when found. The spangram names the theme, touches two opposite sides of the board, and is highlighted yellow.
Finding three valid words that are not theme answers unlocks a hint that reveals letters of a theme word. The game is available on the NYT Strands game page and in the NYT Games app.
