NYT Strands puzzle #154, for Sunday, August 4, 2024, has the theme “In glove.” Start with the hints below if you want to solve it yourself; the complete word list and spangram are farther down.

Hints for Strands #154

The theme points to parts of a hand. For another nudge, think of the phrase: “Know it like the back of your…”

If you use the in-game Hint button, TechRadar’s guide lists these non-theme words as hint-unlocking words: COIN, PRAM, DINK, TRAP, MIND, and PORT. The spangram clue is “At arm’s length.”

Spangram hint

The spangram is placed across the board: it starts at the left edge in row five and finishes at the right edge in row three, according to TechRadar’s guide.

How the puzzle works

Forbes describes Strands as a word-search puzzle played on a six-by-eight letter grid. Theme words connect through adjacent letters vertically, horizontally, or diagonally, and the spangram spans at least two sides of the board. Forbes also says three valid non-theme words of at least four letters unlock the Hint button. These mechanics are reported in its 2024 guide and may not reflect later rule changes.
