How Strands hints work
As described by CC Startup, players find theme words in a letter grid by dragging or tapping letters. Finding three non-theme words of at least four letters reveals a hint showing the letters of a theme word. The spangram is a theme word or phrase that touches two opposite sides of the board. These mechanics are reported by that explainer, rather than a primary NYT rules page.
Difficulty and solving notes
TechRadar’s Marc McLaren described this puzzle as moderate and said he used one hint. That is his account of solving it, not a formal difficulty rating or a measure of how other players performed. He noted that SPANDEX, VELVET, and CHIFFON may be less immediately obvious from their letter patterns.
