Hints for Strands #739
- Theme clue: “Out-and-out.”
- Gentle hint: Look for words meaning complete, absolute, or full-on.
- Spangram structure: It has 13 letters, comprises four words, starts with D, and ends with L.
PC Guide also lists DIET, WHET, COMPEL, TEMPLE, LOVER, and TAINT as examples of non-theme words that can help build progress toward an in-game hint. These are guide-reported examples, not an official NYT list. The guide says three non-theme words earn a hint revealing letters of a theme word.
How Strands works
Strands is a themed word-search game played on a 6×8 grid of 48 letters. Connect adjacent letters in any direction to form words. The spangram names the theme and connects opposite sides of the grid; the independent game-format description says every letter is used once in a completed puzzle.
