How NYT Strands works
Strands is played on a six-by-eight letter grid. Find words related to a shared theme and locate the spangram, which summarizes the connection and spans at least two sides of the board. Letters may connect vertically, horizontally, or diagonally, with direction changes allowed. Finding three valid non-theme words of at least four letters unlocks a hint that highlights a theme word.
