How Strands hints work
Strands is a themed word-search game on a 6-by-8 grid. Connect adjacent letters to form theme words; the spangram summarizes the theme and stretches from one side of the board to another. The cited answer guides describe theme words as highlighted in blue and the spangram in yellow. Finding three valid off-theme words of at least four letters unlocks a hint that highlights the letters of a theme word.
A note on one answer-list discrepancy
Forbes’s answer bullets list “WEIGHT,” but its later account says “WEIGH”; Try Hard Guides, TechRadar, and Times of India also list “WEIGH.” Forbes’s page is internally inconsistent, so WEIGH is the answer supported by the other three guides and by Forbes’s later wording.
