Hints for Strands #670

The theme points to cozy things associated with staying comfortable at home. The general hint published by Parade was “Snuggle up.”

For a more targeted nudge, the answer initials listed by Parade are RO, CO, BL, CU, SL, and FI; the spangram begins with ST. TechRadar says the eight-letter spangram runs from the top of the board in the third column to the bottom in the fourth column.

How the puzzle works

Parade’s January 2 guide attributes these instructions to The New York Times: theme words stay highlighted in blue when found; drag or tap letters to form words, and double-tap the last letter to submit when tapping. Theme words fill the board and do not overlap. The spangram describes the theme and touches two opposite sides of the board; it may be two words. Finding three non-theme words earns a hint, which reveals letters from a theme word.
