Hints for NYT Strands #277
Use these clues in order, stopping when you have enough help:
- Theme: “Gonna fly now!”
- Theme hint: Birds and other fantastic beasts.
- Spangram hint: Think of “flappy bird” and non-birds.
- Spangram endpoints: It begins at the left edge in row 4 and ends at the right edge in row 1.
- Possible in-game hint words: WIFE, GRAY, ROOTS, DRAY, TASK, and TUBE.
For another nudge without revealing the words, the answers begin with GR, BU, ST, FA, AN, DR, and WI.
How Strands hints work
Strands is a themed word-search game. Connect adjacent letters in any direction to make words; letters cannot be reused or crossed. Theme answers highlight in light blue, while the spangram—which describes the theme, reaches both side edges of the board, and highlights in yellow—ties the set together. Finding three non-theme words of at least four letters earns an in-game hint that reveals a theme answer.
