Hints for Strands #162
The puzzle’s theme clue is “Everybody cut footloose!” Think of dance moves. Use these prompts in order, stopping when you have enough help.
- Theme: Look for names of dance moves.
- Spangram nudge: “Get your moves on.”
- Spangram path: TechRadar reported that it starts at the top edge in the fifth column and reaches the bottom edge in the second column.
Words that earn an in-game hint
TechRadar listed these valid non-theme words for earning hints: SPIRE, SPIKE, LOVE, LOVED, LOSS, and MORE. They are clue words, not answers to the dance-move theme.
How Strands hints work
Strands is a themed word-search game. Trace letters in any direction, including diagonally, and turn mid-word if needed; a letter cannot be reused within one word. Finding three valid words that are not theme answers unlocks a hint highlighting a theme word.

McLaren described this particular solve as “Moderate” and said he used two hints. That is the author’s personal assessment, not an objective difficulty rating or an independent test.
