This archived NYT Pips guide is for Sunday, March 29, 2026. Start with spoiler-light hints for the Easy, Medium, and Hard boards, then open the matching walkthrough when you want the full domino placements. Pips asks you to place every tile while meeting the rule in each color-coded region; a domino may cross between regions, so both its orientation and the pips assigned to each zone matter.

How to use these Pips hints

The hints below are paraphrased from the dated Technobezz walkthrough, not official NYT hints. In Pips, regions may require equal values, different values, a value above or below a threshold, an exact pip total, or no particular restriction. Tiles can be rotated.

EnergyPips independently lists the March 29 puzzle set and its tile counts: five dominoes on Easy, seven on Medium, and 14 on Hard. Those are details of these three boards, not general statistics about Pips. See its March 29, 2026 answer page.

Easy

  • Begin with the purple equal-value region: its pips must match.
  • Then use the teal region’s exact total of five.

Medium

  • Start with the pink region, where the value must be less than four.
  • Use the all-equal and greater-than-one conditions to narrow the remaining placements.

Hard

  • Start with the equal-value regions and their doubles.
  • Several zones have exact totals, including 10, 1, and 0; another requires a value greater than 10.
  • Pay attention to orientation when a domino crosses between regions.

Full solutions: spoilers for all three boards

Spoiler warning: The lists below reveal every domino placement. Each item gives the tile values, orientation, and region or regions it occupies. The walkthroughs follow the placements reported by Technobezz.
