How to use these Pips hints
Pips is a domino-placement logic puzzle. Place every supplied domino in the colored grid, rotating tiles as needed, and satisfy the condition shown for each region. Conditions can require equal or unequal pips, a value greater than or less than a target, an exact value, or unrestricted cells. Some puzzles may have more than one valid solution.

Hard: hints before the placements
The Hard board is described as a W-shaped arrangement with several greater-than regions. Two constraints anchor the walkthrough: Green 17 must contain two 6s and one 5, while the Orange equality region needs four matching pips. Use those requirements to narrow down which domino ends can fill the constrained areas before placing the remaining tiles.
Hard placements
The written walkthrough begins with the 4/6 domino, placing it from Pink > 3 into Green 17. It then places 5/0 from Green 17 into the Orange equality region, followed by 4/0 from Dark Blue > 3 into Orange equality. The double blank fills the remaining Orange equality cells.

Next, place 1/1 in the top two Pink equality cells and 3/3 in Blue equality cells. Place 1/0 from Pink equality into a free tile, then 1/6 from Pink equality into Purple > 9. To finish, put 6/3 from Green 17 into a free tile, 5/2 from Purple > 9 into the next free tile, and 3/2 from Purple > 2 into the final free tile.

Yahoo’s available excerpt supplies the partial Easy and Medium placements above; those details should be read as reported placements, not a full solution map. Because Pips puzzles can sometimes admit multiple valid solutions, these clues should not be taken as proof that every puzzle has only one arrangement.
