The November 14, 2025 NYT Pips puzzle is Puzzle #89. Below are the published tile placements for Easy, Medium, and Hard. Spoilers begin with the solutions; on some boards, other arrangements may also satisfy the rules.
How to read the placements
Each pair lists the domino’s pip values. “Vertical” means the tile runs down a column; “horizontal” means it runs across a row. Region rules apply to the individual squares, so a domino can cross a boundary and have each half counted in a different region. Pips’ rules are available from The New York Times Company’s launch announcement.
Spoilers: Easy solution
The Easy board has 8 squares and 4 dominoes across four regions: two exact-sum regions, one less-than region, and one all-different region. Its badges are =1, =7, ≠, and <6.
- Number (5): 5–6, vertical.
- Equal (6): 5–6, vertical; 6–6, horizontal; 6–3, vertical.
- Equal (3): 6–3, vertical; 3–1, horizontal.
- Number (1): 3–1, horizontal.
Spoilers: Medium solution
The Medium board has 14 squares and 7 dominoes across six regions: three exact-sum regions, one less-than region, and two all-different regions. The listed badges are =5, =2, ≠, ≠, <2, and =13.
