This guide is for the NYT Pips board dated Thursday, November 20, 2025. The Hard-tier placements are explained below, with spoilers; Easy and Medium placements are not available in the readable source used for this walkthrough. Match the board itself if your local puzzle number differs: community players called this board Pips #95, but numbering may vary by location.

How to use the hints

Pips asks you to place the supplied dominoes across a grid of colored cells, satisfying the condition shown for each colored group and using every domino. Conditions can require equal or unequal values, a total equal to, greater than, or less than a target, or no specific condition. Rotate a domino when needed to fit the cells.

The placements in the next section disclose the Hard solution. The available textual walkthrough does not provide enough board geometry to specify exact cell coordinates or orientations, so use the board image alongside these clues if you have it.

Hard-tier hints and walkthrough

Start with Purple 18

The Purple group has three cells that must total 18. Each cell therefore has to contain 6. Use the 6/3, 6/4, and 6/1 dominoes to connect those cells to neighboring areas.

Fill the Dark Blue 3 and equality groups

The Dark Blue group totaling 3 needs low values, so the walkthrough uses 1s and a blank there and reserves 2s for an equality group. Place 1/1 in two Dark Blue 3 cells, 4/4 in the Blue equality area, and 0/4 across a Dark Blue 3 cell and a Blue equality cell.

Connect the Pink, Orange, and Green groups

Place 5/5 in the Pink equality group, then 5/6 from Pink into Orange equality. Put 5/2 from the remaining Pink cell into Green equality.

Finish by placing 2/6 from Green equality into the last Orange equality cell, 2/3 from Green equality into Purple 3, and 2/1 from Green equality into the remaining cell without a condition.

Easy and Medium answers

The available text says Easy and Medium solutions were included in the original walkthrough, but their placements appeared only in images that are not available here. Their answers cannot be established from the text, and the Hard arrangement does not reveal them. The official NYT game page is at NYT Pips; this guide is for the November 20, 2025 board, not another day’s puzzle.

Sources and board identification

The Hard-tier textual solution is from a readable MEXC News syndication of the November 20, 2025 walkthrough, which attributes the original article to Forbes: MEXC News walkthrough. A community thread identifies the board as Pips #95 and cautions that numbering may differ by location: community discussion. Use the date and board layout to confirm you have the right puzzle.
