What connects the groups
The yellow answers are basketball teams associated with New York. The green set consists of the last four NBA champions as identified in the puzzle’s answer guide. The blue answers are sneaker names. The purple answers are visual objects appearing in NBA team logos, rather than team names or a shared phrase; that makes the connection less direct than the other three.
