How Connections: Sports Edition works
The New York Times Help Center describes Connections as a game in which players sort 16 words into four groups of four that share something in common. Groups are color-coded from yellow, the easiest, to purple, the trickiest. Sports Edition follows the same rules. The NYT Help Center explains the game.

These category nudges are arranged by color. They point toward the themes without revealing the four words in each group.
- Yellow: Cash
- Green: A hard throw
- Blue: No Lombardi Trophy
- Purple: Teams named after locals
Tips for solving puzzle #92
- Look for more than one possible connection. A word may fit a broad theme, so check whether exactly four words form a tighter group before submitting.
- Use the sports context carefully. The green group uses baseball language, while the blue group points to NFL championship history.
- Save the trickiest category for last. The purple hint concerns the kind of people represented by the team names, rather than a shared sport or trophy.

Can you replay this Sports Edition puzzle?
The NYT Help Center says Sports Edition is available on the web, in The Athletic app, and in the NYT News app, and that Sports Edition does not have an archive. The general Connections archive mentioned on the Help Center page is for All Access and Games subscribers; it is not a replay route for Sports Edition #92. The page says Connections is free to play on all platforms, while some tools and archive features are subscriber-only.
