  • Purple: Almost great fantasy picks

The game presents 16 words to sort into four related groups. You can rearrange or shuffle the board as you look for connections; a wrong guess counts toward a limit of four mistakes. Blue — ACC Schools, abbreviated: BC, CAL, CUSE, PITT

Purple — NFL QBs with a letter removed: BRAD, COUSIN, MOO, RIVER

For the purple wordplay, BRAD, COUSIN, MOO and RIVER point to Tom Brady, Kirk Cousins, Warren Moon and Philip Rivers, respectively, with a letter removed from each surname. The school entries are presented as abbreviations; the category does not expand them.

The puzzle is identified as Sports Edition #62 for November 24, 2024, in the dated guide and in a November 24 discussion thread.
