  • Purple: Each answer shares the same last name.

Spoilers: March 21 answers and categories

The answer key below is from Parade’s March 21, 2025 guide to puzzle #179. Parade describes Connections Sports Edition as a partnership between The New York Times and The Athletic.

Category Answers

Basketball Defenses MAN, PRESS, TRAP, ZONE

How to use the clues

For the yellow group, focus on actions that send a ball away with a foot. The green clue points to defensive approaches in basketball. For blue, “Morrow” and “Booker” signal the shared context of women’s college basketball stars. Purple is a surname-completion pattern: each entry precedes WILSON.
