Why the date is the safest identifier
Contemporaneous coverage by Parade and TechRadar identifies this as game #646 and gives the same groups. A later puzzle archive labels the March 18 puzzle #683, and the available sources do not explain the discrepancy. The date is therefore more reliable than the game number as a reference. Connections also changes at midnight according to time zone, so “today” can refer to different calendar puzzles for players in different places; the explicit date avoids that ambiguity.
