ICONS ON AN IPHONE
COMPASS, ENVELOPE, MUSIC NOTES, and SPEECH BUBBLE correspond to the Compass, Mail, Music, and Messages app icons. TechRadar writer Johnny Dee noted that he sees these icons “dozens of times every day”; that is his personal observation, not a statement from The New York Times. TechRadar’s dated answer page provides the clue sequence and commentary.
What was the puzzle number?
The category answers and tiles are corroborated by dated coverage, but the puzzle number is not settled: TechRadar identifies November 11 as game #884, while an UnscrambleIt November archive labels the same date #927. Without an authoritative dated NYT archive to resolve the conflict, neither number should be treated as definitive.
