One correction: answer coverage identifies this puzzle as #722, not #720; TechRadar also labels #722, while an archive result associates #720 with Saturday, May 31. How Connections works

Connections asks players to arrange 16 terms into four groups of four, with each group sharing a relationship. The link may be based on meaning, spelling, or another feature of the words. Before submitting a set, check that every word fits and consider whether any could plausibly belong to a different group. Wikipedia’s game overview describes the format.

Tips for solving this board

  • Check meaning first. JOURNEY, ODYSSEY, QUEST, and VOYAGE form a semantic group around travel and adventure; ESTEEM, PRIZE, TREASURE, and VALUE share the idea of regard or worth.
  • Switch from meaning to spelling. If a cluster seems hard to explain by definition, inspect its letters. In this puzzle, the Y set is defined by a spelling constraint.
  • Test the word boundary. For the remaining compounds, try splitting each one into a familiar name ending in K and the word that follows. Confirm that all four fit the same construction.
  • Verify the entire set. A plausible connection between two or three words is not enough; test all four against the proposed rule before locking in a group.
