How the groups connect
Yellow: PURSUIT
CHASE, HUNT, QUEST and SEARCH can all describe an effort to follow or find someone or something.

Green: ROMANTIC LETTER SIGN-OFFS
ALWAYS, KISSES, LOVE and YOURS can each close a romantic letter or note.
Blue: GROUP WITHIN A GROUP
A CAMP, PARTY, SIDE or WING can be a smaller section or faction within a larger organization or whole.
Purple: GOLD ___
Add “gold” before each word to make a familiar phrase: Gold Bond, gold leaf, gold mine and gold rush. This category relies on completing a shared phrase rather than finding synonyms.

Connections asks players to sort 16 words into four groups of four based on a shared theme. Each group has a color: yellow is the easiest and purple the trickiest, according to the New York Times Help Center. Some words may appear to fit more than one category, but each puzzle has one solution.
