How Connections works
Connections asks players to sort 16 words into four groups of four that share a connection. The categories are color-coded from yellow, the easiest, to purple, the trickiest. The New York Times notes that words may seem to fit more than one category, so test a possible rule against all four words before committing.

Full answers for June 12, 2025
Spoilers below: the category labels and all four groups are revealed here.
Yellow — Getting cozy
CUDDLING, HUGGING, SNUGGLING, SPOONING
Green — Gossiping
BUZZING, DISHING, SPILLING, WHISPERING
Blue — Engaging in an activity with pins or needles
ACUPUNCTURING, BOWLING, SEWING, WRESTLING
Purple — Starting with titles
DOCTORING, LORDING, MISSING, SIRING
The purple connection is about the beginnings of the words: DOCTOR, LORD, MISS and SIR are titles. It is a wordplay category rather than four actions that obviously belong to one everyday activity.
