Things counted in groups of seven
The puzzle uses the seven-continent convention common in English-speaking countries, along with the Seven Deadly Sins, the Seven Sisters, and the Seven Wonders. Continent counts vary by convention, so “one in a septet” is the puzzle’s organizing idea rather than a universal claim about the number of continents. Forbes explains the references.
