Purple: THINGS PEOPLE TRY TO GET OUT OF
BAD DREAM, ESCAPE ROOM, JURY DUTY, and LABYRINTH share the idea of something a person may want to escape or be released from.
Date and game number
TechRadar, Connections+, and Parade identify the Sunday, August 9, 2026 puzzle as game #1155. Anagrammer lists the same date and answer set as #1240, so the numbering is not consistent across archives. The date can also depend on location: TechRadar says a new puzzle appears at midnight in each player’s time zone, meaning “today” may differ for readers in different places.
