What “pop” might mean

BURST, FATHER, POPULAR, and SODA each connect to a meaning of “pop”: something can pop or burst, “pop” can mean father, popular is often shortened to “pop,” and pop is a kind of soda.

How Connections works

Connections presents 16 words and asks players to sort them into four groups of four based on a shared connection. The groups are color-coded by challenge: yellow is the easiest and purple the trickiest. The New York Times says its editors curate words and categories using the Oxford Dictionary, and deliberately include words that may appear to fit more than one group.
