Here are the four groups and their tiles:

Category Tiles Why they fit
Complete turn CIRCUIT, LAP, ORBIT, REVOLUTION Each can describe a full turn or one complete passage around a course or path.
Circular things FULL MOON, LP, PIZZA PIE, PUPIL Each is circular in shape.

Why the groupings can be tricky

Several tiles can suggest more than one idea at first glance: a circuit, lap, orbit, or revolution can each evoke movement, while the circular-things group focuses on shape. The New York Times Help Center notes that Connections has exactly one solution and is designed to be tricky because words can appear to fit multiple categories. Which puzzle number is this?

Published references disagree: Wordle.today labels the December 1 entry Connections #926, while TechRadar labels the same date game #904. Because the numbering conflicts, the date is the clearest way to identify this answer. Wordle.today and TechRadar provide the respective labels.

Can you play earlier Connections puzzles?

The NYT Help Center says the Connections archive goes back to June 12, 2023, and is available to Games and All Access subscribers. It also says an NYT account is required for archived play progress and history. Check the archive and account details at the NYT Help Center.
