Hints for Connections #200
The puzzle asks you to sort 16 words into four groups of four. The categories can turn on wordplay as well as direct meanings, so a tempting overlap may be a red herring.
- Category nudge: One group is parts of a car.
- Word-pair hint: ZIP and DART belong together.
- Another pair: PARKER and HANCOCK belong together.
The four colors indicate intended difficulty, from yellow as the most straightforward to purple as the most difficult.

Start with the clearest literal category, then check whether each remaining word fits more than one tempting pattern. In this puzzle, the bird names and jazz surnames are easiest to distinguish by asking whether the set identifies bird types or jazz figures; the movement group is made of words that can function as verbs meaning to go fast.
