Norwich City’s most famous fans include actor Hugh Jackman, club figure Delia Smith, broadcaster and writer Stephen Fry, former MP Ed Balls, author Philip Pullman and singer Myleene Klass. This is an editorial selection, not an official club ranking or a measured fame league: recognition varies by audience, while the strength of each person’s connection to the Canaries varies too.
How this list is judged
The Eastern Daily Press (EDP) profiles eleven celebrities associated with Norwich City and describes Delia Smith as the club’s “most recognised supporter.” That report offers a useful pool of candidates, but it does not compare their fame or establish a definitive order. The six below balance international name recognition, UK public familiarity and documented links to the club.
Other names in the EDP report include lifelong supporter Simon Thomas, broadcaster Jake Humphrey, Justin Hawkins and his band The Darkness, Alexander Armstrong and David Frost. Different criteria could produce a different six.
Norwich City’s six famous fans
1. Hugh Jackman
The internationally known actor’s Norwich connection is traced by the EDP to his mother’s influence. The paper also reports that he owns a replica shirt from the 1985 Milk Cup Final. Jackman has joked about taking over Norwich City; that joke is not evidence of an actual investment plan. EDP profile of Norwich City’s celebrity fans.

2. Delia Smith
The cookbook author and television presenter is perhaps the supporter most closely associated with Norwich City in the club’s public image. The EDP calls Smith the Canaries’ “most recognised supporter.” Her place here reflects that prominence, rather than a claim that she is objectively the best-known fan in every country or audience.
3. Stephen Fry
The writer, actor and broadcaster has had formal ties to the club as a board member and ambassador, according to the EDP. A Norwich City official-site search result said he had stepped down as a director and would continue as an ambassador, but the page could not be opened to confirm the details. His past connection is documented; his precise current role should not be assumed from that result. EDP report.

4. Ed Balls
The former Labour shadow chancellor chaired Norwich City from 2015 until stepping down in 2018, the EDP reports. The paper also says he continues to attend matches regularly, making his association more than a passing celebrity allegiance.
5. Philip Pullman
The Norwich-born author is described by the EDP as a lifelong Canaries supporter. He also wrote the foreword to the club’s official history book. The paper attributes this line to a past tweet by Pullman: “following Norwich City is a bit like life. Actually it’s very like life”.

Jackman may stand out to an international film audience; Smith and Fry are familiar names to many UK viewers; and Balls, Pullman and Klass bring distinct political, literary and entertainment connections. Those are reasonable ways to think about recognition, not survey results. No independently published figure in the cited material measures or ranks these people’s fame.

For readers looking beyond celebrity connections, the EDP reports that Pullman wrote the foreword to Norwich City’s official history book. That makes the book a natural route into the club’s history, although the cited report does not establish current availability or a particular edition.
