Nobody Wants This stars Kristen Bell as Joanne Williams, an agnostic podcast host, and Adam Brody as Noah Roklov, an unconventional rabbi. Their interfaith romance connects two very different families—and the announced Season 3 cast adds several new characters. Here’s who plays whom, how the characters are connected, and what is confirmed about the upcoming season.
Who plays Joanne and Noah?
Netflix Tudum’s cast guide, published October 27, 2025, identifies Kristen Bell as Joanne Williams and Adam Brody as Noah Roklov.
- Kristen Bell as Joanne Williams: Joanne is an outspoken, agnostic podcast host who meets Noah at a dinner party. Their relationship raises the question of whether she will convert to Judaism. Bell described the tension this way: “Noah cannot be with Joanne unless she converts but doesn’t want her to do it for him. Joanne doesn’t want to change for a guy but wants to be with Noah. So there’s an incredible amount of friction.”
- Adam Brody as Noah Roklov: Noah is a rabbi who did not expect to fall for someone outside his faith. Dating a non-Jewish person could put his job at risk, and he wants Joanne’s decision about conversion to be her own.
The series follows the couple as they navigate their different lives and the involvement of their families, according to Netflix’s official title page. Its displayed season and episode information can vary by region.
Joanne’s family and podcast circle
Joanne’s relatives and colleagues make up one side of the show’s intertwined social circle. Netflix Tudum identifies these cast members and roles:
