Please make a second season,” according to Anime Explained’s English translation of his post. That was an appeal—not an announcement that Season 2 was in production.
What did Yuu Kamiya say?
Kamiya posted the anniversary message on social media on April 9, 2024. Anime Explained reproduced the English translation as: “It’s the tenth anniversary of No Game No Life. Please make a second season.” ComicBook.com also reported on the request and linked to the post. The wording is a published translation; the linked post is the source for its original context.

The message makes clear that Kamiya wanted another season. It does not say that a studio, broadcaster, or production committee had approved one.
Is No Game No Life Season 2 confirmed?
The anniversary request itself is not confirmation. In a January 20, 2025 report, ComicBook.com said Kamiya called viral claims about a second season “all fake.” That report is a later account of his response, not a production announcement.

The material available here does not establish whether an official announcement came after January 20, 2025. So the careful conclusion is limited: Kamiya asked for a second season in 2024, and a 2025 report described him rejecting viral sequel claims as fake. Neither fact establishes a current production status.
Why did the request matter to fans?
The anime debuted in April 2014, and the film No Game No Life Zero followed in 2017, according to ComicBook.com’s 2024 coverage. Kamiya’s anniversary request arrived a decade after the television series began, giving fans a direct expression of the creator’s interest in seeing it continue.

The anime is based on Kamiya’s light-novel series. Anime Explained reported in 2024 that the series comprised twelve novels published from 2012 to 2023. That account provides context for the franchise’s source material, but it does not establish that an anime continuation has been commissioned.
Has Kamiya explained the long gap?
In a 2023 report, Anime2You quoted Kamiya as saying he could not identify why a second season had not been made. The report also attributes to him a speculative possibility: that the first season’s quality made it difficult for anyone to attempt a follow-up at the same level. That was conjecture, not a confirmed explanation from a production company.
The same report says the anime adapted the first three light-novel volumes, while its post-credit ending corresponds to the end of Volume 6. It also reports Kamiya’s view that a continuation might return to an earlier point or change events. Those comments are not an official guide to where viewers should begin reading, so they do not support treating any particular volume as a confirmed next step after the anime.

The story is available in Kamiya’s light novels as well as the anime adaptation. Seven Seas Entertainment’s catalog lists a physical edition of No Game No Life, Vol. 2; that listing confirms the book exists, not that it is the officially recommended continuation point for the anime.
A 2024 report listed Season 1 on Crunchyroll at the time it was published. Streaming rights can vary by country and change over time, so check the service’s current catalog in your territory rather than relying on that older listing.
