Nina Dobrev said she was hospitalized after a bike accident in May 2024, then reported in June that her surgery was successful. In a later interview, she described a fractured knee, ACL repair and meniscus injury. Those are updates she shared at the time; the available reporting does not establish her current medical status.
What happened to Nina Dobrev?
In May 2024, Dobrev posted about a bike accident and her hospitalization. She shared an image of herself on a bike alongside a hospital image and wrote, “I’m ok but it’s going to be a long road of recovery ahead,” according to the Los Angeles Times’ May 21 report. Early coverage used differing descriptions, including e-bike, motorized bike and dirt bike. Dobrev did not publicly specify the precise circumstances, so the exact vehicle and how the accident happened are not established.
What did she say about surgery and her injuries?
Surgery update
On June 5, Dobrev wrote, “Surgery was a success,” and thanked people for their messages and support. The statement, reproduced by Us Weekly, was her public account of the outcome, not an independent medical assessment.
Injuries she described
In a June interview, Dobrev described a fractured knee, an ACL repair and a meniscus injury. She also said she was not yet able to walk independently. These details were reported by Entertainment Tonight on June 17 and should be understood as her account of her injuries and recovery.
