What did Nikki Garcia say?
Garcia’s representative told Good Morning America on August 30, 2024: “This is a private matter, and Nikki asks for privacy for her and her family at this time.” The statement was issued by her representative; it was not a direct quote from Garcia in an interview.
What was reported about the arrest?
According to ABC News, Chigvintsev was arrested in Napa County on August 29, 2024, on suspicion of felony domestic violence. The report said he was booked under California Penal Code section 273.5(a), posted $25,000 bail and was released that afternoon. An arrest on suspicion of an offense is not a finding of guilt.
The cited reporting did not establish a complete account of the incident. Authorities had not disclosed the alleged victim’s identity at the time, so it should not be inferred from Garcia and Chigvintsev’s relationship or family circumstances.

What happened to the criminal case?
On September 24, 2024, ABC News reported that the Napa County District Attorney’s Office would not file criminal charges after reviewing the investigation. The office said the evidence available did not meet the standard of proof beyond a reasonable doubt.
That decision was a prosecutorial decision not to file charges. It was not an acquittal after a trial or a court finding about what happened.
