They married in New York, where Harrison was based at the time, according to Stephanie McKenna’s PerthNow report published on 24 October 2021. Harrison was raised in Swanbourne, Perth, and had hoped to marry in her hometown before pandemic disruption changed those plans.
How their wedding plans changed
PerthNow reported that the couple became engaged in August 2019. During a family visit by early 2020, Harrison was reportedly looking at venues in Western Australia’s south west. The wedding ultimately took place in New York; the account linked the change from her original hometown plans to COVID-19 disruption.

Before the ceremony, the couple stayed at The Plaza Hotel and had dinner, PerthNow reported. Harrison wore a lace gown for the ceremony, then changed into a feathered mini dress for the reception. She also wore a gold necklace gifted by her bridesmaids in Australia, saying: “It’s from my bridesmaids back home,” according to the report.

A PerthNow follow-up published on 7 November 2021 said Harrison and Thomson honeymooned in St Barth after their New York wedding, which it described as having taken place about two weeks earlier.
