Cage had appeared in earlier set photos wearing a large trenchcoat. Official first-look images released in February 2026 are a separate, later look at the series.
What the October 2024 costume photos show
ComingSoon’s October 28, 2024 report described photos first published by TMZ showing a suited stunt double on an old car. The figure appears to struggle to stand, mime shooting a web onto the car, and try to swing away. These are images from a filmed action beat, not confirmation of how the finished scene will look in the final edit.
ComicBook.com also identified the suited performer as Cage’s stunt double. Its “comic-accurate” wording is the outlet’s assessment, not a confirmed statement from the production.
Why the person in the suit is not Nicolas Cage
The costume-action photos should not be confused with an earlier set-photo report. On October 3, 2024, ComingSoon reported that filming had begun and showed Cage in a large trenchcoat while crouching. That report described a story about an aging, down-on-his-luck private investigator in 1930s New York confronting his past as the city’s superhero.

Later first-look coverage identifies Cage’s character as Ben Reilly, formerly the superhero known as “The Spider.” After stepping away following a personal tragedy, he is drawn back into the role by an extraordinary case. The series is described as a live-action adaptation based on the Marvel comic.
How the later official first look differs
The 2024 images are candid on-set photographs of an action beat. In February 2026, TV Insider covered the series’ first-look materials and reported that viewers can choose between color and black-and-white presentations. TV Guide published a 14-image gallery of official first-look images on February 12, identifying them as Prime Video material. Those promotional images are a distinct, later release—not additional leaked photos from the 2024 shoot.

The show’s two visual presentations also matter when judging how its costume reads on screen. In a production interview, cinematographer Darran Tiernan said costume fittings were reviewed with cameras and monitors while departments tested colors and textures for the completed image. He described set monitors initially being set to black-and-white, with color checked during the process. That account supports the idea of coordination between costume and cinematography across both looks; it does not verify the materials or construction of the suit seen in the leaked images.

The images offer a broad look at the Spider-Man Noir suit in action, but they are not a complete costume breakdown. The reports do not verify its materials, construction, or every feature, and a set photo cannot establish the final lighting or effects treatment. VFX supervisor Hnedel Maximore summarized the series’ creative direction to Computer Graphics World this way: “I want you guys to take everything you think about Spider-Man and the Spider-Verse, and throw 60% of that away, because we are first a noir. Our spider is very different.” The “60%” is rhetorical, not a measured production statistic.
