Axios reported both titles as arriving Friday, October 9, 2026. This is a U.S.-oriented snapshot dated October 8; confirm the title in your own service catalog before watching, since schedules and access can vary.

These are new streaming arrivals, not necessarily films that first premiered in 2026. Axios is the source for the dates and premise; check Netflix or Peacock again on the day of arrival.
How to find a mystery or thriller streaming now
Streaming catalogs change, and a genre-filtered listing is a discovery aid rather than proof that a specific title is still available on a particular service. Rotten Tomatoes’ at-home mystery/thriller filter surfaced Obsession, Passenger, Strung, Fuze, and Normal, but those listings need fresh checks for current platform, date, and genre before you plan a watch.

- Look at the access type: a service name alone does not show whether a film is included with your plan, offered as a paid rental, or available through a library.
- Choose by mood as well as label: crime thrillers, psychological suspense, detective mysteries, horror hybrids, and comic mysteries offer different viewing experiences.
Streaming service access is not always included
A title appearing on a platform does not guarantee that every subscriber can watch it without an additional payment. Peacock’s plan information distinguishes Select, which excludes movies, from Premium tiers that include movies. Confirm your plan and the film’s listing before relying on subscription access. Availability and plan options can change.
Other listings to treat carefully
The Whisper Man
CinemaBlend’s October 5, 2026 guide listed The Whisper Man on Netflix. That broad home-streaming/VOD guide is a discovery source, not a fresh confirmation of the title’s exact genre or current availability. Check Netflix directly before treating it as a mystery or thriller pick.

Carrie is a series, not a movie
Axios reported the limited series Carrie available on Prime Video as of October 8. It may suit viewers looking for adjacent suspense, but it does not belong in a movie list.

A film can be new to a streaming service without being a 2026 theatrical release. In this guide, October 9 dates refer to scheduled streaming arrivals; they do not establish each film’s original premiere date. For any other title, check whether the listing means a recent movie, a newly available catalog addition, or simply a title newly surfaced by a changing catalog filter.
