As of August 12, 2026, the clearest new movie streaming with a U.S. Prime membership is Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan: Ghost War. Other films connected to Prime Video fall into different categories: Deep Water is currently listed as a rental or purchase, Lee Cronin’s The Mummy needs a current access-tier check, and Verity is confirmed for theaters but does not yet have a confirmed Prime Video subscription date.
That distinction matters. Prime Video’s storefront combines titles included with Prime, digital rentals and purchases, films available through add-on channels, and movies Amazon MGM has announced for theatrical release. This guide separates those categories instead of treating every movie visible on Prime Video as free with a Prime membership.

Should you read the books first?
No. The movie is not presented as requiring prior knowledge of Tom Clancy’s novels or the television series. New 2026 movies to rent or buy on Prime Video
Deep Water
Deep Water is listed on Prime Video as a 2026 action and suspense film with a runtime of 1 hour 46 minutes. It stars Aaron Eckhart, Ben Kingsley, and Angus Sampson, and is directed by Renny Harlin.
The important qualification is the access model: the U.S. Prime Video title page displays options to rent or buy the movie. It does not establish that the film is included in the Prime membership catalog. Check the price and rental terms on the live page before selecting it; digital storefront pricing may vary by account, location, and date.

Lee Cronin’s The Mummy: listed on Prime Video, but verify the tier
Prime Video has a dedicated page for Lee Cronin’s The Mummy, identifying it as a 2026 film with a reported runtime of 2 hours 14 minutes. The available research does not establish which U.S. access category applies.
That means it should not be labeled “free with Prime” without checking the current title page. Depending on the live listing, it could be included with Prime, supplied through an add-on subscription such as MGM+, or offered as a digital rental or purchase. Treat it as unconfirmed until the U.S. page shows the exact access option.

Movies newly added in August 2026
Third-party Prime Video trackers report a large batch of additions on August 1, 2026—one report counted 51 movies—with further titles arriving during the first week of August. These reports can be useful for finding older films that have just become available, but they are not a permanent catalog record.
“New to Prime Video” does not necessarily mean “released in 2026.” A movie from an earlier year may be newly licensed, newly returned to the service, or newly offered in a particular country. Prime Video’s licensing arrangements can also change after a list is published.
How to use August release lists safely
- Use third-party lists for discovery only. They can identify titles worth checking, but they should not be treated as proof of current access.
- Open the individual U.S. Prime Video title page. Confirm whether the film says it is included with Prime, requires a channel subscription, or has rent-and-buy pricing.
- Check the exact date and account location. A film can be available in one country or on one date and absent elsewhere.
- Do not call older additions “2026 movies.” Describe them as movies newly added in August unless the film itself was released in 2026.
Because no individual August title beyond the films identified above has been independently confirmed in the supplied research, this guide does not turn a third-party list into a definitive catalog ranking. A publication-ready August roundup should verify each selected title separately immediately before publication.
Upcoming Amazon MGM movies to track
Verity: theaters first, Prime Video date unknown
Amazon MGM has confirmed that Verity, adapted from Colleen Hoover’s novel, will premiere in theaters on October 2, 2026. That is a theatrical date—not a Prime Video subscription date.

Amazon has not established a Prime Video arrival date in the available research. The film therefore belongs in an “upcoming Amazon MGM theatrical releases” section rather than a list of movies streaming now.
Readers who want to read the source material before the adaptation can read Colleen Hoover’s Verity before the movie. Buying or reading the novel does not provide access to the film, and the book recommendation should not be presented as confirmation of a streaming release.

Project Hail Mary
Amazon MGM’s CinemaCon coverage identifies Project Hail Mary as a major 2026 theatrical title within the studio’s expanded cinema strategy. The available information does not provide a confirmed U.S. Prime Video subscription date.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteIt should therefore be described as an Amazon MGM theatrical film to watch for, not as a current Prime Video movie. Do not infer a streaming date merely because Amazon MGM produced the film; theatrical windows can precede a Prime Video release.
Why Amazon MGM’s theatrical strategy affects Prime Video lists
Amazon says it aims to release 14 films theatrically in 2026 and has described a goal of delivering 15 major global films annually into theaters by 2027. That makes the theatrical-versus-streaming distinction increasingly important.

An Amazon MGM film may follow this path:
- theatrical release,
- digital rental or purchase,
- later subscription availability, potentially on Prime Video.
Those stages are not interchangeable. A confirmed cinema date does not confirm a Prime Video date, and a film being produced or distributed by Amazon MGM does not automatically make it included with Prime.

Streaming with Prime
Use this label only when the official title page or an Amazon announcement indicates that the film is included in the Prime Video subscription. Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan: Ghost War is the confirmed example in this guide.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Rent or buy
A movie may appear prominently in Prime Video search results while still requiring a separate rental or purchase. Deep Water belongs in this category based on its title page. “Available on Prime Video” is technically true in this case, but “free with Prime” would be inaccurate.
Add-on channel
Prime Video also aggregates third-party subscriptions. Depending on the country and account, films may be offered through channels such as MGM+, Apple TV, HBO Max, Crunchyroll, Peacock Premium Plus, FOX One, or Paramount+. An add-on channel is a separate subscription and should be named explicitly rather than presented as part of the standard Prime membership.
Upcoming theatrical
Use this category for a film with a confirmed cinema date but no confirmed Prime Video subscription date. Verity and Project Hail Mary fit this description in the available research.
Unconfirmed
This label is appropriate when a movie appears in search results, a third-party schedule, or a dedicated page but the current U.S. access tier has not been established. Lee Cronin’s The Mummy should remain here until its live page is checked.

What to check before publishing or watching
- Open the current U.S. Prime Video page for every title.
- Confirm whether the film is included with Prime or requires a separate payment.
- Identify any add-on channel, such as MGM+.
- Check the current rental and purchase price.
- Verify runtime, audio, and subtitle options.
- Recheck future theatrical dates and streaming windows immediately before publication.
- State the research or verification date, especially in a monthly “new arrivals” article.
What not to assume about “new movies on Prime Video”
- Not every Prime Video result is included with Prime. Some are rentals, purchases, or channel titles.
- A 2026 release is not automatically a 2026 streaming release. Theatrical and subscription dates are separate.
- Amazon MGM ownership or distribution does not guarantee immediate Prime Video access.
- A third-party list is not a permanent availability record. Licensing and country catalogs change.
- U.S. availability does not establish worldwide availability. Prime Video catalogs vary by country.

No such inclusion is confirmed in the checked U.S. listing. The Prime Video page displays options to rent or buy Deep Water, so it should not be described as free with Prime.

The Bottom Line
If you want a confirmed new 2026 movie included with Prime in the U.S., start with Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan: Ghost War. For Deep Water, expect a separate rental or purchase. Treat Lee Cronin’s The Mummy as access-tier unconfirmed, and keep Verity and Project Hail Mary in the upcoming theatrical category until Amazon confirms their Prime Video dates.
Prime Video availability and pricing vary by country and can change without notice. Always check the current title page before deciding what to watch.
