Netflix published the first official Wednesday Season 2 teaser on April 23, 2025, alongside first-look images. The season later arrived in two parts—August 6 and September 3, 2025—and all eight episodes are now streaming on Netflix.
What Netflix’s Season 2 teaser and images showed
Netflix’s promotional feature put Wednesday’s family life at Nevermore in the foreground. Its first-look images include Wednesday, Enid, Bianca, Pugsley, Tyler, Thing, Uncle Fester and other members of the Addams family. Netflix framed the story as Wednesday returning to school expecting to understand and control it, only to find events taking a different turn.
The preview also highlighted friction between Wednesday and Morticia, and the prospect of family members complicating life at school. Those are Netflix’s descriptions of its promotional material, not an independent account of the season’s plot.
Pugsley, Fester and the Addams family
One of the teaser’s notable storylines is Pugsley’s arrival at Nevermore and his exploration of electrical powers. Director and executive producer Tim Burton described him as “kind of an outcast among outcasts” and said he was exploring newly acquired teenage powers. Burton also joked, “Your family at school is the worst thing possible, isn’t it?”

Fred Armisen’s Uncle Fester also features in the material. Co-creator Alfred Gough said, “This year, we were able to expand his role which you just got a taste of in Season 1.”
Joanna Lumley as Hester Frump
The first-look feature introduces Joanna Lumley as Hester Frump, also known as Grandmama. Netflix identifies Hester as Morticia’s mother and an ally to Wednesday.

What the creators said about the season
Co-creator Miles Millar summed up the teaser’s tone with the line, “Nothing is what it seems in Season 2.” Netflix’s feature says Wednesday returns to Nevermore expecting to know the school and keep control, but things do not unfold as she expects. The quote and characterization are part of Netflix’s promotional coverage.
When the teaser and episodes were released
Netflix Tudum published the official teaser page on April 23, 2025. Netflix announced that Season 2 would be released in two parts:

Netflix’s 2025 campaign coverage said Wednesday Season 1 had drawn more than 350 million views. The same coverage reported 3 billion owned social impressions for the Season 2 pre-release campaign; impressions are not the same as unique viewers.

Netflix also reported that the Season 2 trailer had over 236 million impressions and 169 million views at the time of its campaign report. These are figures from Netflix’s reporting, not independently measured audience totals, and they describe that reporting point rather than current totals.
