When does Netflix’s Pride and Prejudice come out?
Netflix Tudum lists December 3, 2026 as the premiere date. That date is scheduled, not a confirmation that the series has already been released. Netflix’s title page lists the show as a 2026 limited series, and Netflix is the platform where it is set to stream.
The series is planned as six parts. Its format gives the adaptation a limited-series structure rather than a single-film runtime.
What is the Netflix series about?
According to Netflix’s series synopsis, wealthy bachelors arrive in the Bennets’ neighborhood, bringing romance, family pressures and questions about the sisters’ futures. Jane Bennet falls for the charming Charles Bingley, while her sister Elizabeth clashes with Bingley’s proud friend, Mr. Darcy. Encounters and family scandals lead Elizabeth to reassess her feelings and her understanding of love.

The premise follows the central relationship between Elizabeth and Darcy while placing it among the expectations and marriage prospects facing the five Bennet sisters. Jane Austen’s novel, first published in 1813, is the source material.

Who is making the adaptation?
Dolly Alderton wrote the series, and Euros Lyn directs. Netflix credits Alderton and Lyn as executive producers alongside Laura Lankester, Will Johnston and Louise Mutter for Lookout Point. Emma Corrin is also an executive producer, and Lisa Osborne is the producer.
The British Council’s project record also lists Austen as the source novelist, with Lyn directing, Alderton writing and Osborne producing. That record identifies Lookout Point (UK) and Netflix (US) as production companies; it was last updated July 29, 2025, before Netflix announced the premiere date.
