Its central figure is not a conventional gang boss but the Fury: an independent mediator who keeps six criminal families from destroying one another. When Lyna Guerrab’s father is murdered, her search for the killer pulls her into that hidden system—and toward Selma, the woman currently holding the Fury’s title.
Created by Jean-Yves Arnaud and Yoann Legave, the series has two seasons. Season 1 premiered on March 1, 2024, with eight episodes. Furies: Resistance arrived on March 18, 2026, and consists of six episodes. Lyna Guerrab — Lina El Arabi
Lyna is the character through whom viewers enter the world of Furies. At the beginning, she is a college student trying to keep her distance from her parents’ criminal connections. That separation ends during her birthday celebration, when her father is shot.
Lyna is later sent to prison because she cannot—or will not—identify the person responsible. Once free, she begins investigating the murder herself. The search leads her to Selma and to the rules governing Paris’s six criminal families.

Lyna is not initially the Fury. Selma trains her as a possible successor, forcing her to balance two incompatible identities: the young woman who wants an ordinary life and the increasingly capable operator who can survive inside the underworld. Her relationship with Élie makes that conflict sharper because he works for the police.
Selma, the Fury — Marina Foïs
Selma is the current holder of the title the Fury. The title refers to a role, not a separate character. She functions as a mediator, investigator and enforcer for Paris’s criminal families, stepping in when disputes threaten the balance of power.
That makes Selma different from a conventional crime boss. She is expected to remain independent enough to police the families rather than simply serve one of them. Her decision to train Lyna creates the series’ central partnership and raises the question of whether the Fury’s authority can survive its succession.
The creators deliberately built Selma and Lyna as a two-woman action partnership rather than a conventional mother-and-daughter story. Both Marina Foïs and Lina El Arabi undertook several months of physical preparation, including weapons work and fight choreography.

Driss is Selma’s brother and one of the main threats in Season 1. He is tied to the conspiracy that destabilizes the established criminal order, making his conflict with Selma both political and personal.
Mathieu Kassovitz brought Muay Thai experience to the role. The production incorporated that background into Driss’s action scenes, giving his fights a distinct physical style rather than treating them as generic screen combat.

Élie — Jérémy Nadeau
Élie is Lyna’s boyfriend and a police officer. His profession places him on the opposite side of the law from the criminal network Lyna enters, but his connection to her prevents the police storyline from being separate from the underworld plot.
In Season 2, Lyna tries to preserve her relationship with Élie while working undercover and attempting to infiltrate Damoclès, the paramilitary organization that has taken control of Paris’s criminal structure. That gives Élie a more complicated position than the simple “police boyfriend” description suggests.
Simon, the Fixer — Steve Tientcheu
Simon is known as the Fixer because he solves problems through negotiation and connections. He acts as an intermediary between the criminal families, helping maintain communication when direct confrontation could trigger a wider conflict.
His importance comes less from being the most physically dangerous person in the room than from knowing how the network works and which relationships can still be repaired.
Orso — Sandor Funtek
Orso is a capable operative in Selma’s network and becomes one of Lyna’s important allies. He belongs to the practical side of the organization: the people who carry out difficult work while the larger struggle over the Fury’s authority unfolds above them.
Orso remains part of the continuing ensemble in Furies: Resistance.

Nico/Nicolas, the Muddy — Quentin Faure
Nico is another established figure in Paris’s underworld. Netflix’s English-language material calls him Nicolas, aka the Muddy, while French listings commonly use Nico. These are not two different characters.
The spelling and nickname variation is one reason cast searches can produce apparently conflicting results. Quentin Faure plays the same underworld figure in both seasons.
Keïta — Eye Haïdara
Keïta is the detective pursuing the criminal activity surrounding Lyna and Selma. Her investigation provides the formal police perspective on events that the criminal families attempt to control internally.
Keïta’s storyline also keeps the series from treating the underworld as a closed system. Police pressure, undercover work and personal loyalties continually interfere with the families’ attempts to enforce their own rules.
Mama — Anne Azoulay
Mama runs the brothel that Lyna infiltrates during her first mission. What begins as a seemingly contained assignment becomes more dangerous, showing how quickly Lyna’s training turns into actual criminal work.
Mama is also among the returning figures listed in Season 2’s cast materials.

Amytis — Fatima Adoum
Amytis is a member of Lyna’s family and an important figure in the Fury lineage. French cast listings use the spelling Amytis; some older English-language references spell the name Amythis.
Parques — Alex Brendemühl
Parques leads the underworld’s assassins and is Selma’s principal rival in the fight over how Paris should be governed. He believes Selma’s model of mediation is too weak and favors a more direct, military-style approach built around force.

Season 2 begins two years after the Season 1 finale. The previous criminal structure has been dismantled, and Damoclès, a paramilitary organization, now controls Paris’s underworld.
- Lyna secretly works with the police while trying to infiltrate Damoclès.
- Selma takes a more direct resistance route and attempts to build an alliance capable of overthrowing the new regime.
- Orso, Simon, Nico, Keïta, Amytis and Mama continue as part of the returning ensemble.
Season 2 also introduces or expands several figures:
| Character | Actor or status | Connection to Season 2 |
|---|---|---|
| Varda | Raphaël Acloque | A figure associated with Damoclès |
| Iris | Margot Bancilhon | A new Season 2 character |
| The Carny | Actor not identified in the reviewed official Netflix materials | An old enemy of Selma whom she visits |
| Oz | Actor not confirmed in the reviewed materials | The mysterious leader associated with Damoclès |
Damoclès is an organization, not the name of one character. It occupies the position once held by the six mafia families and Olympus, turning the Season 2 conflict into a resistance story rather than a straightforward succession struggle.
