Four leading series across Netflix’s 2024 reports
Netflix publishes viewing figures in two six-month reports, rather than one official year-end ranking in the cited material. The figures below identify notable leaders from each half; they should not be read as a ranked list of the four most-watched series for all of 2024.

The first-half figures come from Netflix’s What We Watched the First Half of 2024, published September 19, 2024. The second-half figure comes from What We Watched the Second Half of 2024, published February 26, 2025.
Why these figures are not a full-year ranking
The 108 million, 92 million and 88 million figures measure viewing from January through June; Squid Game Season 2’s 87 million measures July through December. Those separate windows do not provide comparable full-year totals. A title could appear in both reports, and Netflix’s published summaries do not supply a reconciled January–December total for each series here. Adding half-year figures or sorting them together would therefore create a ranking the reports do not establish.
Netflix said Season 2 of Squid Game became the most-viewed series of the second half despite premiering only six days before the end of 2024. Its 87 million views are for that half-year reporting window, not an annual count.

Netflix calculates views by dividing total hours watched by a title’s runtime. The measure is not a count of unique people or households: one person may contribute more than one view-equivalent through repeat viewing, and the figure does not identify how many distinct viewers watched. Netflix says the metric “highly correlates to completers on Netflix” and can be replicated by other streamers.

The company says its biannual engagement report covers approximately 99% of Netflix video watch time. Netflix recorded more than 94 billion hours watched in January–June 2024. In July–December, it recorded more than 94 billion hours, up 5% year over year; those platform-wide totals provide context, but they are not additional views for any one series.
