The headline “Netflix Just Rolled Out An 8-Bit Game That Forces You To Escape The Demagorgon” does not identify a confirmed new Netflix release. The description may be conflating Netflix Infinite Runner, a mobile game reported as launching in early 2017 and later going offline, with the two Stranger Things games Netflix currently lists: Stranger Things: 1984 and Stranger Things 3: The Game.
Netflix’s catalog, inspected September 9, 2026, lists more than 120 exclusive mobile games, including those two Stranger Things titles—not a newly rolled-out 8-bit Demogorgon escape game. Netflix’s current games catalog is the best place to check what is available now.
Which game does the headline mean?
The wording is not enough to confirm a single game. A retrospective from What’s on Netflix reports that Netflix Infinite Runner launched in early 2017, used characters from several Netflix shows, and featured 8-bit renditions of theme songs. It also says the game is no longer available. That account does not establish that Infinite Runner was a Demogorgon escape game.
The same retrospective distinguishes Infinite Runner from Stranger Things: The Video Game, a top-down 2D game by BonusXP. Netflix’s current catalog instead lists Stranger Things: 1984 and Stranger Things 3: The Game. Neither the catalog nor the retrospective verifies the headline’s exact combination of a new launch, 8-bit graphics, and escaping the Demogorgon.

What Stranger Things games does Netflix list?
Stranger Things: 1984
Netflix describes this as an ’80s-inspired adventure set around Hawkins and the Upside Down. It is the catalog’s retro-styled adventure option, rather than a confirmed match for the headline’s specific escape premise. See Netflix’s catalog for its current listing.
Stranger Things 3: The Game
Netflix describes this as a pixelated adventure based on season 3, with 12 playable characters and solo or cooperative play. Netflix’s game support page documents mobile installation and two-player co-op using Bluetooth controllers.

How to find and play Stranger Things 3: The Game
- Look in Netflix. In the Netflix app, check the Mobile Games row or use the Games shortcut.
- Or search your platform’s app store. Search for Stranger Things 3: The Game by name.
- Sign in if prompted. Netflix says a Netflix account is required when the game asks you to sign in.
- For co-op, connect two controllers over Bluetooth. Netflix identifies Xbox and PlayStation controllers as supported; other controllers may work.
If the game does not appear, Netflix says profile maturity settings and device compatibility can affect visibility. Check the Netflix support page for current requirements and troubleshooting, since availability and compatibility can change.
Was Netflix Infinite Runner included with a membership?
Netflix’s November 2, 2021 mobile-games launch announcement said games were available to members without ads, extra fees, or in-app purchases, and described Android and iOS support. Netflix’s exact launch-era wording was: “All you need is a Netflix subscription — there’s no ads, no additional fees and no in-app purchases.” That announcement explains the offer at launch; it does not establish the current terms for every plan, game, or region. Check Netflix’s announcement and current account details for present terms.

A separate Demogorgon-themed game
Hasbro’s physical Stranger Things Eggo Card Game has a premise that more closely matches the escape wording: its rules say players try to escape the Upside Down before the Demogorgon attacks. It is a separate card game, not a Netflix mobile title or a version of Infinite Runner. Its official rules establish the gameplay premise, not current retail availability.
