Netflix confirmed the closure to Game File; the company has not publicly established the project’s final title or a reason for closing the studio.
What Netflix confirmed about Team Blue’s closure
On October 22, 2024, Game File reported that Netflix had closed Team Blue, and a Netflix representative confirmed the shutdown. Engadget and PC Gamer also reported the company’s confirmation.
The closure meant Team Blue’s planned game did not reach release. The reports do not identify a released title, and no public account provides a detailed description of the game’s design.
What the studio was developing
Team Blue was associated with an ambitious project beyond Netflix’s earlier mobile-centered games effort. Coverage characterized its direction as big-budget and intended for multiple devices, but that description reflects reporting about the studio—not a fully published Netflix product plan.

The public reporting does not establish a project title, gameplay details, or budget.

Netflix did not provide a definitive reason for Team Blue’s closure in the cited coverage. PC Gamer specifically reported that no reason was given. The shift from mobile-centered games toward an unreleased AAA multiplatform project is useful context, but it is not evidence of Netflix’s motive for shutting the studio.
