Netflix’s Help Center currently lists these monthly prices for U.S. plans. The Basic plan has been discontinued.

Prices and features are from Netflix’s U.S. Plans and Pricing page. Netflix lists extra-member prices of $7.99 per month with ads or $9.99 without ads. Package subscriptions may have different prices or eligibility, and taxes may apply depending on location.
Why $17.99 is no longer the Standard price
The $17.99 figure was a real U.S. Standard price, but it is historical. Netflix raised Standard from $15.49 to $17.99 effective July 17, 2025, according to Comcast customer notices reproduced in a New York State Department of Public Service filing. In March 2026, Standard went from $17.99 to $19.99; Standard with ads rose from $7.99 to $8.99, and Premium from $24.99 to $26.99. TechCrunch reported that new members saw the March prices starting March 26, 2026. The New York filing documents the 2025 change.

When the increase applies to existing subscribers
The March 26, 2026 date was when new members began seeing the higher prices, not necessarily the date every existing subscriber’s bill changed. TechCrunch reported that existing subscribers would receive the new prices over the following months. Netflix says it emails members and displays an in-service message detailing a price change one month before it applies to their billing date. If Netflix is billed through a package or add-on, the partner sends the notice. Check your Netflix account, payment history, or partner bill for your own effective date rather than assuming all accounts changed at once. See Netflix’s price-change guidance.

- Choose Standard with ads if the lower monthly price matters more than ad-free viewing or access to every title; some movies and shows are unavailable on this plan.
- Choose Standard if you want ad-free viewing, two simultaneous supported devices, and the option to add one member who does not live with you.
- Choose Premium if you need four simultaneous supported devices, 4K with HDR, downloads on more devices, spatial audio, or capacity for up to two extra members.
Netflix bills monthly and says it does not offer annual, multi-month, or lifetime memberships. It also says subscribers can change plans or cancel at any time. Netflix explains that prices can change as it adds shows, movies, and product features, and that local market changes—including taxes or inflation—can contribute to adjustments.
