Netflix’s 2024 Christmas-movie releases ran from Meet Me Next Christmas on November 6 through Carry-On and Disaster Holiday on December 13. The list below separates traditional holiday romances and family animation from films that are Christmas-set or regional releases. It is a historical guide to the 2024 slate, not a guarantee that every film is available in every Netflix country today.
Netflix Christmas movies released in 2024
Netflix’s November 1 holiday guide supplies the release dates and descriptions for the main slate. Its November romantic comedies followed a Wednesday schedule; the table gives each film’s date and premise. Netflix’s guide and corporate announcement are the sources for the core slate and release pattern: Netflix Tudum’s holiday guide and Netflix’s corporate announcement.

Other Netflix holiday films from 2024
Two December releases belong in a broad list of Netflix holiday movies, but they are different from the November romantic-comedy run. One is a Christmas-set thriller; the other was announced as part of Netflix’s South African slate.

- The Herdmans are absolutely the worst kids in the world. They lie, steal & bully?and now they?ve hijacked the town Christmas pageant. Grace (Judy Greer) is directing the performance for the very first time, but she and her family are in over their heads, especially against a town that wants the Herdmans out. But the play?s mischievous stars might just teach the town the true meaning of Christmas.
- December 13 — Carry-On: A TSA agent is blackmailed over a dangerous package on a Christmas Eve flight. Taron Egerton and Jason Bateman star; Jaume Collet-Serra directs. It is a Christmas-set action thriller rather than a traditional Christmas film. Netflix includes it in its fall 2024 movie release guide.
- December 13 — Disaster Holiday: A workaholic father takes his dysfunctional family on an unplanned holiday trip in an effort to prove himself as a father and husband. Netflix’s South Africa announcement names Rethabile Ramaphakela as director. The film is listed in that regional slate announcement.
How to choose among the 2024 releases
For a light romance, start with the November releases: their setups range from a concert-ticket chase to a magically animated snowman, a Christmas revue and a gathering with exes. For a family-animation option, That Christmas combines several holiday stories. For action built around Christmas Eve rather than a conventional festive romance, choose Carry-On. These are distinctions based on Netflix’s official descriptions, not a quality ranking or a claim of personal viewing.

Netflix’s holiday programming included more than movies. Its broader slate also featured the fantasy animation Spellbound, biblical drama Mary, Christmas-set spy series Black Doves, Sabrina Carpenter’s holiday special, games and two Christmas Day NFL games. Those are not additional Christmas movies, so they are not included in the film list above. Netflix outlines the broader mix in its holiday programming announcement.
Rank #2
- Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas - Blu-ray Brand New
There is one date discrepancy worth noting for older previews: Netflix’s September 2024 South Africa announcement gave That Christmas a December 6 date. Its later November holiday guide and Media Center listing gave December 4, which is the date used here.
