What was the June 2025 trailer?
On June 16, 2025, the official anime site announced a Final Season teaser PV, describing it as the first footage from the season. It featured dramatic imagery from the final battle and a newly recorded line for Deku. The teaser promoted the Final Season; it did not announce the finale’s broadcast date.

Read the official Final Season teaser PV announcement. “Emotional” is a description of the trailer’s tone, not a verified measurement of audience reaction or a phrase established as an official designation.
Is episode 170 the last animated My Hero Academia story?
No. The December 2025 finale adapted the manga through chapter 430. The official site later announced a separate TV special adapting chapter 431, “More,” from the manga’s final, 42nd volume. The special was announced for broadcast on May 2, 2026. It is an epilogue adaptation, distinct from the eight-season main TV run.

Read the official announcement for the “More” TV special. For the manga source of that epilogue, Volume 42 contains chapter 431; it is optional companion material, not a requirement to understand the television finale.
