My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON, also known as Season 8, premiered in Japan on October 4, 2025. Its release window is therefore in the past, not an upcoming date. The series’ Japanese announcement set a Saturday broadcast, while Crunchyroll announced streaming in a range of territories.
When did My Hero Academia Season 8 come out?
The Japanese premiere of My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON was October 4, 2025, according to the official anime announcement. Crunchyroll described it as the eighth and final season and announced an October 2025 release window. Its later premiere-day guide confirms that the first episode was live on October 4.
Why is it called FINAL SEASON?
The official Japanese anime site describes the season as the final chapter, and Crunchyroll calls it the eighth and final season. “Season 8” is a familiar way to refer to it, but My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON is the official branding used for the concluding season.
What was the Japanese broadcast schedule?
The official announcement set the Japanese television broadcast for Saturdays at 5:30 p.m. on the Yomiuri TV/Nippon TV network, carried across 29 stations with some regions excluded. That is the announced schedule in Japan; it is not a universal airtime for viewers elsewhere.

Crunchyroll announced streaming across covered territories including North America, Central and South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS, the Indian Subcontinent, and Southeast Asia. The territory list does not guarantee availability in every country or establish that the season remains in a particular local catalog today. Check the current catalog for your country.
Is there a Blu-ray or DVD release?
The official Japanese product listing gives FINAL SEASON Vol. 2 a release date of May 20, 2026. Both Blu-ray and DVD editions are listed with approximately 138 minutes of content, covering episodes 166–170 and “More.” The listing specifies Japanese Linear PCM 2.0 audio and Japanese accessibility subtitles for both formats. The limited Blu-ray edition includes a booklet, postcards, and other bonuses.
This Japanese product listing does not establish the availability of an English-language edition, overseas stock, or compatibility with a particular player. Confirm the edition, language, region compatibility, and seller details before buying.
Disc correction notice for Vol. 2 owners
On July 27, 2026, the official site posted a correction and exchange notice for an on-screen text error in “More” on the listed Vol. 2 discs. The notice explains the exchange procedure and sets January 29, 2027 as the receipt deadline. It concerns the discs covered by that notice; it should not be assumed to apply to every international edition. Owners should consult the official notice for eligibility and instructions.

No. The official site’s later listings distinguish FINAL SEASON from subsequent short-form and special-episode items. Its July 2026 news includes an announcement about the special short “I am a hero too” and a notice related to Vol. 2; these are later franchise items, not a new Season 8 release window. The official site carries current franchise announcements.
