Spoilers for “Izuku Midoriya Rising.” Listed as Season 8 Episode 8 in English-language catalogs and Episode 167 in the official Japanese numbering, this November 22, 2025 episode brings Deku to the final confrontation with All For One. Its defining idea is that a seemingly solitary charge is made possible by a wider network of classmates, heroes and people watching the battle.
What happens in “Izuku Midoriya Rising”?
All For One has taken over Shigaraki’s body, leaving Deku at the center of the decisive fight. The episode’s dramatic movement is not simply toward a showdown: support from Class 1-A, Aizawa, other heroes and people following the battle by broadcast helps Deku keep advancing. That gives the title’s focus on Midoriya a collective context rather than presenting his action as detached from everyone else.

The official Japanese title is 緑谷出久:ライジング. Apple TV uses the English title “Izuku Midoriya Rising.” The official anime site describes this installment as the final battle, and the next episode, “Epilogue, The Hellish Todoroki Family: Final,” begins the epilogue portion.
Does the episode balance the ensemble and Deku’s decisive action?
The episode’s central storytelling challenge is the transition from a large ensemble conflict to one protagonist’s advance. The support matters most when it feels like part of the battle’s cause and effect—not a pause for a roll call of familiar faces. Classmates and fellow heroes establish that Deku is not fighting in isolation, while the broadcast audience widens the sense of who is invested in the outcome.

That structure also gives the emotional emphasis a job to do: it can sharpen the stakes of the fight by showing what the effort means to others. Whether that emphasis feels earned depends on how well the episode integrates those contributions with the combat rather than letting sentiment interrupt its momentum. The episode’s premise offers a strong payoff to the series’ collective-effort theme, though the precise balance between action and emotion is a matter of viewing experience, not a catalog fact.
What should viewers watch for?
- Clarity of the stakes: The decisive conflict is Deku against All For One, who has taken over Shigaraki’s body.
- How support is integrated: Notice whether the classmates, heroes and broadcast viewers feel consequential to Deku’s advance.
- Pacing between action and emotion: The episode has to make its emotional beats strengthen, rather than stall, the final-battle momentum.
- Season payoff: Consider whether the move from ensemble effort to Deku’s action feels like a culmination of the season’s themes.

Where can you watch it?
The official Japanese distribution page lists the Final Season on services including Hulu, Amazon Prime Video and Disney+, among other providers. That listing is specific to Japan and does not establish availability in other countries; check the services in your own region for the episode. Availability can vary by territory and change over time.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is the manga a direct companion?
An official announcement says the Final Season begins with story material in manga Volume 40, so that volume is a reasonable place to explore the season’s manga context. The available information does not establish that Volume 40 contains the exact chapters adapted in Episode 167, so it should not be described as this episode’s confirmed direct source.
