What happens in Episode 139?
The official episode synopsis establishes a crisis already in motion: jailbreakers are running rampant in Japan, and Star and Stripe travels from the United States to assist. Before she can simply arrive as reinforcements, she encounters Shigaraki in her flight path. Why is Deku barely present?
A CBR review passage relayed through IMDb characterizes the premiere as focusing on Star and Stripe and giving Deku little screen presence. That is the reviewer’s framing, not a measured screen-time count. In story terms, the opening gives space to the urgent jailbreak situation and the incoming American hero before turning attention back to Deku’s wider role in the season.
