Tamaki Amajiki, better known as Suneater, is one of U.A. High’s Big Three. His food-dependent Quirk lets him turn what he has eaten into combat abilities, while his self-doubt sits in sharp contrast with his technical skill. Here are 10 facts about the character, with later manga developments clearly marked as spoilers.
Ten facts about Tamaki Amajiki
-
Suneater is his hero name
The official anime character profile identifies Tamaki’s hero name as Suneater. It also lists his birthday as March 4 and his height as 177 cm. Yomiuri Telecasting Corporation’s character profile does not state when those profile details were last updated.
-
He belongs to U.A.’s Big Three
Tamaki is a third-year student in U.A.’s hero course and one of the three students known as the Big Three, whom the official profile describes as the school’s top students. The profile reflects his student-era status, not his later manga timeline.
-
His Quirk has two names in the sources
The Japanese profile calls his Quirk 再現 (Saigen); Bandai Namco’s English-language game announcement calls it Manifest. The official profile describes the basic ability as reproducing on his body features of things he has eaten.

What he eats determines what he can use
According to the fan-maintained My Hero Academia Wiki character reference, he can manifest a substance’s traits only while it remains in his system. That means his options depend on what he has eaten and how long its properties remain available; replenishing them is part of managing the Quirk. This detailed duration mechanic comes from a secondary reference, rather than the official profile.
-
He can mix traits rather than rely on one form
The same secondary reference describes him combining food-derived traits, including tentacle-like fingers and shell-based defense. The ability’s flexibility lets him adapt his body to different combat needs, but the source for those specific combinations is fan-maintained.

-
He interns under Fat Gum
Tamaki’s official profile names Fat Gum as the pro hero under whom he interns. The placement connects him to the agency and hero work that become important in the Shie Hassaikai storyline.
