Spoilers for earlier anime seasons and the light novels: discussion of the announced starting point and possible story material may reveal what comes next.
Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 3 is already airing in Japan, and its second cour is scheduled for 2027. Official material says the adaptation begins from light novel volume 13 and has put Eris’s training journey in the promotional spotlight. Fans are especially eager to see Eris return, but hopes about pacing, battles, animation, and screen time are still expectations—not confirmed adaptation details.
What is confirmed about Season 3?
The official anime site was publishing material for episode 14 by September 28, 2026, and announced that Season 3’s second cour is scheduled for 2027. The announcement gives no exact premiere date or episode count for that cour. Check the official news index for updates and the second-cour announcement.
Season 3 began its Japanese broadcast on July 5, 2026. KADOKAWA lists weekly Sunday 24:00 broadcasts on TOKYO MX, BS11, and other outlets. That is Japanese broadcast information; streaming availability and schedules vary by region and should be checked with local services. KADOKAWA’s Season 3 listing names Studio Bind as the animation studio, with Ryosuke Shibuya directing and sharing series composition with Naoto Yani.

What will Season 3 adapt?
The official season announcement says the story is planned to begin from volume 13 of the original light novel. In its own words, translated from Japanese: “The third season is scheduled to begin its story from volume 13 of the original novel.” The announcement also describes the preceding season through Rudeus’s marriage and family life, the effort to rescue Zenith, and Paul’s death, then teases new drama and adventure. Read the official Season 3 announcement for that starting-point statement.
Volume 13 is a useful source-reading reference for viewers who have finished the anime material preceding Season 3. Reading it—or later volumes—can reveal developments before they are animated, so it is an option for readers who want to move ahead, not a requirement for watching the show.

Why are fans focused on Eris?
Eris’s return is the clearest expectation reflected in the available fan discussion. The official teaser announcement in January 2026 centered her training journey, recalling her decision to leave and become strong enough to protect Rudeus, and asking what role she will play in the season. That makes her a prominent promotional focus, but it does not establish how much screen time she will receive or which scenes will be adapted. See the official teaser visual announcement.
A discussion of the teaser visual on r/anime includes excitement about an “Eris comeback,” her adult character design, and her background and training. Some commenters hope the adaptation gives that material room, while others discuss adaptation quality. It is one thread among engaged commenters—not a representative poll or proof of a uniform fandom view.

What remains speculation?
Promotion and the announced starting volume offer clues about the season’s direction, but they do not settle detailed adaptation choices. Until episode-level official information establishes them, treat the following as predictions or preferences rather than promises:
- How much of Eris’s training and background will appear, and how much screen time she will get.
- Which specific novel scenes, battles, or secondary-character material will be included.
- How the adaptation will pace its story or divide it into arcs.
- Whether fans’ expectations for animation quality or fidelity will be met.
In particular, the teaser’s emphasis on Eris signals promotional interest, not a confirmed scene list. The 2026 KADOKAWA listing reports cumulative circulation of 18 million copies for the novel series; that is a book-circulation figure, not an anime audience or viewership number.

If you want to follow the anime without reading ahead, continue with Season 3 and check official announcements for new schedule details. If you want to move into the source story, volume 13 is the announced starting point; consider whether you are comfortable encountering material that may precede future episodes. For watching earlier seasons, check services available in your country, since the Japanese broadcast outlets listed by KADOKAWA do not establish streaming rights elsewhere.
